It doesn't make any difference which way the compression gasket is installed. However, it is important that the gasket is used to ensure proper plug installation. As a personal preference you may choose to install the gaskets all in the same direction. However, once the plugs are installed and properly tightened, the direction of the compression gasket is of little consequence.
